Dear Friends and Family

I am participating in a unique and inspiring fundraising event called the Sunrise Ascent on Mt. Washington to benefit Adaptive Sports Partners whose mission it is to empower individuals with disabilities by building community, confidence, and skills through sport, recreation and adventure. 

Well anyone who knows me, knows I love adventure and hiking is a favorite for me.  I love all that a good hiking trip entails.  I enjoy planning hikes, the unexpected rock-scrambles I come across that are really hard and scary sometimes, breathing in the fresh air and the breathtaking views I get to see along the way not to mention the sense of accomplishment and empowerment it gives me when I successfully navigate my way from point A to point B or summit a particularly difficult peak.  A good hike has a way of putting life’s challenges into perspective .  In fact, as I write this, I’m realizing how truly blessed I am in so many ways.  Besides the love and support of my friends and family, I am physically, emotionally and mentally “capable” of planning a hike and seeing myself through to the end on my own not having to rely on anyone to help me.  This isn’t the case for many people with disabilities who, without Adaptive Sports Partners, would not have the opportunity to participate in, not just hiking, but all kinds of year round sports and recreation.  This is why before sunrise on July 30th, I am honored to be part of a team joining nearly 250 volunteers who will be helping Adaptive athletes reach new heights by summiting Mt. Washington.  At an elevation of 6,288 feet, Mt. Washington is the highest peak in the Northeast.  I don’t have a doubt in my mind that this experience will have a long lasting impact on the Adaptive athletes participating in this event.  Everyone deserves a chance to experience the sense of accomplishment a good summit hike will bring to a person able or disabled.  I would be eternally grateful if you would support my efforts and the mission of this organization by making a donation on my fundraising page today.  I’m so excited to be part of “Team Have Fun” and can’t wait for the big day!
