In less than 48 hours, I’ll be on an adventure, hiking up Mt. Washington. I’d love to have your support.

Adaptive Sports Partners is holding Sunrise Ascent on Sunday morning. Starting around 3am, we’ll rise in the dark and start up the 7.6 mile auto road, with an average grade of 12%. (photo is from 2022 Sunrise as we reach the summit - I'm in pink)

I’m on Team William. William is 10 and loves being outdoors, horseback riding, swim lessons, and he participates in adaptive skiing, biking, and kayaking. He’s also autistic and non verbal, so it’s crucial for organizations like ASP to have the right equipment, highly trained staff, and committed volunteers, that way he can enjoy all of his activities. I’ve been volunteering with Adaptive for three years, on the board for two, and for many years before that, I asked for support for the Polar Bear Plunge for Maryland Special Olympics, going back to 2003. Thank you, for all the times you’ve supported me before. 

I ask each year because being able to get outside and move, and being part of a team, are so important to me. Justin and I, and Hazel and Winnie, just spent 10 days visiting state and national parks and lakeshores, camping, hiking, and swimming our way across NY, OH, MI, and Canada. It felt great to be outside, to explore Sleeping Bear Dunes and to watch the dogs swim in Seneca Lake and Lake Michigan. Being outside and moving around is good for your mind, body, and soul. I am so grateful to be part of an organization that makes it possible for every person who wants to participate in swimming, skiing, hiking, kayaking, and so much more. 

I’m excited to take on my third hike up Mt. Washington. I would appreciate your support!
