Adaptive Sports Partners is an incredible organization whose mission is:
"to empower individuals with disabilities, in the North Country of New Hampshire and Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, by building community, confidence, and skills, through sport, recreation, and adventure."
"Adaptive Sports Partners is for athletes of all disabilities; physical, developmental, emotional, and behavioral disabilities. Our athletes have diverse needs – some may require adaptive equipment, some specialized instruction, and some both."
I am impassioned by their purpose because of the positive effect that hiking and other outdoor activites has had on my own mental wellness. I have often reflected on the fact that I am fortunate enough to be able to enjoy these activities with limited restrictions. I have also wondered many times how I could help others that may have physical limitations to be able to have these same experiences that I have had. When I initially learned about this organization, I knew that I had to find a way to be involved.
On July 27th and into July 28th, I will participating in a sunrise hike up Mount Washington (NH's highest summit) to raise money for this incredible organization! I will also have the priviledge of supporting one of their athletes to complete the climb on this day as well! We are looking to raise over $100,000 total for Adaptive Sports Partners! Please continue reading for additional information. If you would like to donate towards this incredible cause, I would truly apprecite your support! Thank you in advance!
Before sunrise, on Sunday, July 28th, athletes and their teams will ascend the 7.6 miles of Mount Washington Auto Road, determined to reach the 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington.
Each team includes an athlete with a disability, and a team of crew, who support the athlete as they climb to the summit. After the teams complete their hike to the summit, roadrunners help to transport athletes and their crew back down to the base area. Volunteers help throughout the event, with set up, registration and the celebratory after party at the base of the Mt. Washington Auto Road.- Together the teams are inspired by the beauty of the sunrise, the majesty of the Presidential Range and the determination shared amongst them.
The goal for this event is to raise over $100,000 to help fund the operating budget of Adaptive Sports Partners.
Help our teams to accomplish their Sunrise Ascent Summit Fundraising Goal of $6,288.00!
