Hello All,

     Tom and I have been volunteering for the Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country for the past year+. This incredible organization provides opportunities for disabled individuals (physical, developmental, emotional, and behavioral) to participate in a wide range of sports ... biking, kayaking, hiking, gardening, golfing, rock climbing, swimming, skiing (cross country & Alpine), snowshoeing. 

     This year on July 28th is The Sunrise Ascent of Mt. Washington when 12 teams of disabled athletes & their volunteers will be hiking up Mount Washington … such an incredible feat! Before sunrise, 12 teams will ascend the 7.6 miles of the Mount Washington Auto Road to reach the 6288 foot summit. This fundraising event directly benefits the Adaptive Sports Partners, helping to provide the necessary equipment and supports, so all individuals can engage in sports, recreation, and adventure.

     Although Tom and I will not be completing the hike, we are supporting these incredible athletes by being "Road Runners" and providing transportation back to the base area. Also, we have decided to support the fundraising efforts of Jason, a father, Veteran, and adaptive athlete who has been battling ALS since 2015, and will be completing the ascent with his team. Adaptive sports have given him the opportunity to continue to do all the activities he loves with his family and friends. We chose to help Jason reach his goals in memory of Tom’s co-worker and friend who lost his battle with ALS last year.
