I'm gearing up for my 4th Ascent up Mt. Washington, the highest point in the northeast and home to the worst weather in the world. I'm hiking with Team Taylor, which was also my team in 2022.

This year, the hike poses a new challenge for me. I broke my fibula in the fall playing rugby and haven't made it back to 100%. Fortunately, Taylor has been training for this for years, and since our breakthrough hike in 2022, he takes on Mt. Washington on his feet, not using a trail rider (hiking chair). I'll be along for moral support, hauling gear, and keeping us motivated for the 7+ hours.

I've put in some solid training miles the last few weeks:

-a short and steep 2 mile hike on Saturday 7/12

-3.4 miles and 1,181' of elevation on Sunday 7/13 with my friend Natasha and Winnie (see photo)

-9.5 miles! with 3,465' of ascent!! on Saturday 7/19 with Natasha

I would love to have your support. Sunrise Ascent is our biggest fundraiser of the year and makes it possible for us to buy the specialized equipment that our athletes use, from adaptive bicycles with e-assist to outriggers for sit-skiers. It also helps pay for our dedicated, hardworking staff who provide all the training and coordinate the lessons. I'm proud to be a volunteer and board member, and so far in 2025, I’ve taught 20 ski lessons and 5 swim lessons.
