My name is Kally Abrams & I'm joining Team Remberance in support of Jesse & all of those who are faced with disabilities.
Being a person who has overcome tragedy in life and having a close family member diagnosed with ALS this Sunrise Assent has a deeper purpose.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (a-my-o-TROE-fik LAT-ur-ul skluh-ROE-sis), known as ALS, is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time.

ALS is often called Lou Gehrig's disease after the baseball player who was diagnosed with it. The exact cause of the disease is still not known. A small number of cases are inherited.

ALS often begins with muscle twitching and weakness in an arm or leg, trouble swallowing or slurred speech. Eventually ALS affects control of the muscles needed to move, speak, eat and breathe. There is no cure for this fatal disease.

I've dedicated this summer to a host of volunteer events & my hope is that you'll choose to support this worthy & very personal cause.

Last year, I happened to be atop of Mt. Washington when my hiking buddies made their way to the the summit.  I walked down the auto road & met them around 4,000 feet and after hugs we got back to the business of making the way to the summit.

This year, I'm all in joining them the entire journey for this deeply personal cause.

Before sunrise, on Sunday, July 27th, 2025 athletes & their teams will ascend the 7.6 miles of Mount Washington Auto Road, determined to reach the 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington.

All funds raised go towards The Martin Wallem ALS Foundation Sunrise Ascent on Mount Washington. 100% of the funds raised from this campaign will go toward supporting our mission and will empower individuals with disabilities by building community, confidence, and skills through sport, recreation, and adventure. This gift makes it possible for us to continue providing sport, recreation, and adventure.
